“This MoU reflects our commitment to empowering Indian talent with globally recognized skills and certifications, aligned with evolving industry demands and sustainability goals. Through this collaboration, we aim to create pathways for Indian professionals to excel on the global stage.” Dr.-Ing. Michael Fübi, Group CEO, TÜV Rheinland
TÜV Rheinland, a global leader in independent testing and certification services, has reinforced its long-term commitment to India’s industrial and workforce transformation through a landmark visit by its Group CEO, Dr.-Ing. Michael Fübi. The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TUV Rheinland India and Generation India Foundation (GIF) – a global non-profit organization, in the presence of Dr. Fübi and Arunesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Generation India. The MoU aims to address India’s critical skill gaps and empower underserved youth with job-ready skills.
The strategic partnership between TÜV Rheinland India and Generation India Foundation focuses on implementing the Generation Methodology – a proven, outcome-based training approach to deliver high-quality skilling programs across mutually identified locations in India. The collaboration will initially focus on job roles such as Solar PV Installer, integrating industry-led training, international certification, and employability pathways for young people from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fübi, emphasized: “India is not just a growing market for us – it is a strategic destination in shaping the future of global quality, sustainability and skills development. This MoU reflects our commitment to empowering Indian talent with globally recognized skills and certifications, aligned with evolving industry demands and sustainability goals. Through this collaboration, we aim to create pathways for Indian professionals to excel on the global stage.”
The collaboration is also part of Project AMBER 2 (Accelerated Mission for Better Employment and Retention), a special project under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 4.0). TÜV Rheinland India will serve as an Implementing Agency (IA), providing access to labs, classrooms, and certified trainers to support the execution of the project at training centers across India.
Dr. Fübi’s visit also includes his participation in the TIC Council Summit in New Delhi. As President of the TIC Council, the international association representing independent testing, inspection and certification companies, he is leading global efforts to harmonize quality and compliance standards, with India playing a pivotal role in this transformation.
“India has emerged as a vital growth hub for TÜV Rheinland – not only for the strength of its domestic market but also for its increasing importance in the global quality ecosystem,” Dr. Fübi added.
“As the world faces complex challenges in sustainability, technology, and global mobility, we see India as a leading contributor to the next generation of global quality and innovation.”
TÜV Rheinland’s longstanding presence in India spans critical sectors including testing, inspection, certification and training. This visit and MoU reaffirm the company’s strategic commitment to advancing India’s leadership in sustainable industry practices, global workforce readiness, and world-class regulatory standards.
