“I believe the market for the Performance Series is just beginning to take off. In just two years, we’ve already installed 500 machines from this series. We expect that number to grow exponentially over the next five years.” Nitin Mehra, President, Precision Engineering Technologies India Private Limited
Congratulations on the launch of the Performance Series. We’ve heard a lot about the new machining centres, but I’d like to dive a little deeper into the cobot included in this series.
Thank you. We are very excited about the entire Performance Series, and yes, that includes our new cobot for the Indian market. We have seen a clear shift in Indian industry towards automation. Many customers are seeking a simple, accessible entry point, particularly those who aren’t operating at extremely high volumes. High-volume production often justifies the significant investment in fixed, moving, or gantry robots, which can connect multiple machines.
For companies with smaller production runs that still want to automate, our cobot are the perfect solution. They can be seamlessly integrated with a machine, and when a production run is complete, the cobot can be easily moved and reprogrammed for another machine. A new component can be programmed in less than 20 minutes, making this a highly flexible and cost-effective solution for our customers.
How do your cobot stack up against the competition in terms of both price and productivity?
Our cobot is incredibly economical. But beyond the price point, we offer a complete, end-to-end solution. This includes not just the cobot itself, but also the stackers and the support needed to get up and running. With our 15 offices and a number of showrooms across India, our teams are fully equipped to teach customers how to program the cobot in the simplest way possible. When a changeover is needed, it takes just 15 to 20 minutes to program the robot for the next task. We also offer a range of systems, including models that can handle weights of up to 30 kg, so there’s a solution for many different applications.

Is these cobot developed in-house?
Yes, it is. It was designed in the U.S. and are manufactured right here in India.
Are any customers already using them?
Yes, we have a number of customers already using our cobot systems, and the feedback has been extremely positive. They are very happy with their performance.
“With the increasing focus on ‘Atmanirbharta’ (Self-reliance) and ‘Make in India’, the demand for performance-driven CNC machines and systems will grow multi-fold.”
Zooming out to the Performance Series as a whole, what do you see for the market over the next five years?
I believe the market for the Performance Series is just beginning to take off. In just two years, we’ve already installed 500 machines from this series. We expect that number to grow exponentially over the next five years. When you look at GDP figures and other government data, India is far behind countries like China in manufacturing competitiveness and growth.
However, with the increasing focus on ‘Atmanirbharta’ (Self-reliance) and ‘Make in India’, the demand for performance-driven CNC machines and systems will grow multi-fold. The government has opened up new sectors like aerospace, defence, semiconductors to private players, and we believe this will create a massive boom in the market.
