The telecom and networking sector experienced a transformative year in 2025, shaped by India’s accelerated push towards 5G expansion, fibre densification, and digital infrastructure modernization. Enterprises across industries increased investments in network automation, secure connectivity, cloud adoption, and last-mile digital access. The year also saw strong momentum from Government and public-sector programmes focused on digitization, Security and improving end user connectivity. Collectively, these factors made 2025 a pivotal year for India’s digital infrastructure build-out.
In this environment, Umiya Buildcon strengthened its telecom and networking vertical through large product and project deployments. During the year, the company successfully commissioned their indigenously developed 1G switches, secured land grants for its upcoming manufacturing facility, and expanded its R&D team to accelerate technology development. Umiya also executed several critical networking projects for enterprise and infrastructure clients, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner in the connectivity ecosystem.
Looking ahead to 2026, the sector is expected to enter a phase of deeper scale, driven by enterprise digitization with a wide range of indigenous network, Security and Data Center products. With increased policy emphasis and controls on Make in India products, 2026 will see greater market demand for solutions that are designed and developed locally. Umiya Buildcon has already begun scaling up plans to expand R&D to step up switch and router development. The company is investing significantly into advanced technical capabilities and is actively hiring and developing R&D talent under its Make in India initiative.
The R&D focus will be on the development of indigenous secure Network OS and switching capacities up to 100G. The company also has a roadmap for product portfolio diversification, including hyperscale data center products such as 25G, 100G, and 400G AI switches. Umiya Buildcon also intends to strengthen strategic partnerships and participate in large-scale connectivity programmes that support India’s growing demand for reliable, high-speed digital infrastructure.
