Emobi’s New Electric Two-Wheeler AKX to Be Powered by Musashi’s e-Axle Technology

AKX becomes the second Emobi model to feature Musashi’s e-Axle technology, following Kyari, which was launched in November 2025.

“AKX has been designed with the needs of India’s electric mobility market in mind. The integration of Musashi’s e-Axle technology enhances the vehicle’s acceleration, torque and overall riding experience, while staying focused on efficiency and reliability. This collaboration reflects our commitment toward building EV solutions that are practical, high-performing and ready for real-world Indian conditions.” Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder, Emobi

Emobi, a Bengaluru-based pioneering electric vehicle (EV) start-up, has announced that its new electric two-wheeler model, AKX, will be equipped with the advanced e-Axle EV drive unit from Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd., a global mobility technology manufacturer headquartered in Japan.
Speaking on the development, Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder, Emobi, said, “AKX has been designed with the needs of India’s electric mobility market in mind. The integration of Musashi’s e-Axle technology enhances the vehicle’s acceleration, torque and overall riding experience, while staying focused on efficiency and reliability. This collaboration reflects our commitment toward building EV solutions that are practical, high-performing and ready for real-world Indian conditions.”
AKX becomes the second Emobi model to feature Musashi’s e-Axle technology, following Kyari, which was launched in November 2025. The development marks another step in Emobi’s efforts to build electric mobility solutions designed for India’s evolving two-wheeler and last-mile mobility ecosystem.
Musashi’s e-Axle for two-wheeled electric vehicles is engineered to deliver smooth acceleration from start, superior pick-up torque and improved acceleration performance in real-world riding conditions. These strengths are rooted in Musashi’s original e-Axle technology, which applies the company’s expertise and know-how over decades in two-wheeler transmissions, to electric mobility. Featuring a proprietary reduction gear, the e-Axle delivers low-noise performance and efficiency while achieving acceleration and torque comparable to two-wheelers internal combustion engine vehicles.
India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market, and the shift towards electrification is gaining momentum, particularly across urban mobility and last-mile delivery segments. With growing demand for locally relevant, performance-driven EV solutions, AKX aims to support the country’s transition towards cleaner, more efficient and accessible mobility. Through its product portfolio, Emobi continues to focus on developing electric vehicles that combine performance, reliability and practical usability for Indian riders and commercial users.
