Defence is becoming an increasingly important business area for Daimler Truck. With the launch of the new global brand “Daimler Truck Defence,” the company is bringing together its global defence activities under one unified identity and aligning the business for sustained international growth. Going forward, the portfolio will not only include vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Trucks but will also be progressively expanded to incorporate solutions from other global Daimler Truck vehicle portfolios and brands.
To support this growth strategy, Daimler Truck will invest a mid-three-digit million-euro amount over the coming years to expand its engineering, manufacturing, sales and service capabilities. The objective is to provide governments worldwide with an even broader range of military mobility and logistics solutions.
Approximately 1,000 employees are currently engaged in the company’s defence business. The growth strategy is being driven primarily from the Wörth site in Germany and is expected to create additional demand for highly qualified specialists. Daimler Truck has set a target of generating €1 billion in defence-related revenue by 2028.
