Zelio E-Mobility Starts Production at Its New Manufacturing Plant in Hisar

It is the fourth manufacturing unit of Zelio E-Mobility. The new facility adds 48,000 two-wheeler and 24,000 three-wheeler units per annum to Zelio’s installed production capacity, taking it from 2.4 lakh to approximately 3.12 lakh units annually

“In the electric vehicle business, manufacturing decisions have to account for more than the number of vehicles a company can produce. The ability to control critical processes, maintain consistency across production lines and get vehicles to dealers when they are needed has a direct bearing on how efficiently a business can grow. Our investment in Hisar is aimed at building these capabilities together. We also see an opportunity to develop local manufacturing talent and deepen our engagement with the industrial ecosystem in the region as operations scale.” Divyanshu Agarwal, CEO, Zelio E-Mobility

“Demand from our dealers and customers continues to grow, and this new plant in Hisar gives us a stronger base to deepen our presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. We will continue to pursue this expansion with a firm focus on profitability and disciplined growth.” Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility

Zelio E-Mobility, a rapidly expanding electric two and three-wheeler manufacturer, has commenced commercial production at its new manufacturing facility in Patan, Hisar, Haryana. The plant adds 48,000 units per annum for two-wheelers and 24,000 units per annum for three-wheelers to the company’s installed manufacturing capacity, taking the total from 2.4 lakh to approximately 3.12 lakh units annually. The facility spans 6 acres, with a built-up area of 2,61,360 sq. ft., and will support the company’s expansion across existing and new markets.
The facility has commenced production of both electric two-wheelers (scooters) under the Zelio brand and the company’s Tanga electric three-wheelers. The additional capacity is expected to come on stream during Q3 FY2026–27, with production scaled according to dealer demand, product mix and supply-chain readiness.
For this facility, Zelio has committed an investment of more than ₹20 Crore under its approved capital expenditure plan. A portion of the investment has been funded through the proceeds of the company’s IPO, in accordance with the objects of the issue, with any additional requirement to be met through internal accruals.
With the addition of the Patan facility, Zelio now operates four manufacturing plants across Haryana, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
The new facility is expected to strengthen supply to Zelio’s growing dealer network, improve product availability and replenishment timelines, and optimise logistics as the company expands its presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. Equipped with in-house fabrication, painting and assembly lines, the plant also supports the company’s backward-integration plans. These capabilities are expected to provide greater control over critical manufacturing processes and components while enhancing supply-chain reliability, cost management and greater operating leverage.
Commenting on the expansion, Divyanshu Agarwal, CEO, Zelio E-Mobility, said, “In the electric vehicle business, manufacturing decisions have to account for more than the number of vehicles a company can produce. The ability to control critical processes, maintain consistency across production lines and get vehicles to dealers when they are needed has a direct bearing on how efficiently a business can grow. Our investment in Hisar is aimed at building these capabilities together. We also see an opportunity to develop local manufacturing talent and deepen our engagement with the industrial ecosystem in the region as operations scale.”
Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility, added, “Demand from our dealers and customers continues to grow, and this new plant in Hisar gives us a stronger base to deepen our presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. We will continue to pursue this expansion with a firm focus on profitability and disciplined growth.”
Beyond enhancing production capacity, the Patan facility is expected to generate employment across fabrication, painting, assembly, quality control, maintenance, warehousing and other manufacturing functions, alongside indirect opportunities for local suppliers, logistics providers and allied services. Hiring will increase as production scales and new product lines are introduced. Zelio is also adopting resource-efficient practices and evaluating applicable central and Haryana state incentives, subject to eligibility and regulatory approvals.
The expansion comes amid a strong financial growth trajectory. Zelio’s revenue increased 81.8% year on year to ₹313.68 crore in FY2025–26, while its revenue CAGR stood at 121% over the past four years. The company has remained profitable since inception. It was listed on the BSE SME in October 2025 at an issue price of ₹136 per share, raising ₹78.34 crore through its public issue.
Zelio currently has more than 400 dealers across over 25 states and is targeting a network of more than 550 dealerships by FY2027. The company aims to pursue this expansion while maintaining a focus on profitability, working-capital discipline and long-term stakeholder value.
